Google is a business just like any other business. Google has become the best search engine in the world. Mainly due to growing their business towards the consumer. Just like any other business, Google wants to give you what you are looking for.. Why would someone use Google if they gave you a website every time you searched, that made you go around in circles looking for a product. That being said, your first priorities should be.
  • Connect to Google Search Console, index and create text
  • Making it easy to use for all devices
  • Great site speed
  • Easy to use

1. Website and Content

First they want a site that is easy to use. It  should be detailed in a way that is not  carried out and straight forward and encompass all the information that is relevant, modern and engages users. Your website should be specific is easy to navigate to find any page, post or product with no clicking around. A good saying many knowledgeable web designers use is, “users should be able to navigate anywhere on your website within 2 clicks”.

No grammar mistakes you should always have an SSL- ( Secure Socket Layer). An SSL Certificate is for securing your site, users information (especially for E-commerce transaction. Search Engines looks at this as verification of a legitimate site. and increase your website on organic SERP (Search Engine Result Pages) Your website should be structured with categories, for posts and sub pages that branch off a specific page. Each page should have a title, a body, and a page that contains at least some content with a professional and appropriate font. The appearance should have images should be titled ,as well as a description. File names can include:

  • Numbering
  • name and or page/topic
  • Name of Business
  • Caption(if needed)
  • Alternative text

These should also include keywords

Precisely, The website should always give direction. It should be linked to other pages accordingly. You always need a Terms of Use page, Privacy page and an About Page and a warranty information. Any other page that addresses specific criteria. keep your website modernized by adding new features.

2. Written and updated content

There should always be a theme to your content and it should be personable but professional. Your content should always give the user direction and should not lapse. You should always make another page, when you’re going out of focus of the starting topic unless it’s a glossary page or another page. For example, if your company has a vision  but it is quite lengthy. Make sure to create pages for the vision, mission and values separately or use tabs. make sure they are very visibly linked. Never copyright, always make sure it is driven towards your target audience and the user will gain some value, or imaging from reading it. Your Website should always have a Marketing Orientation. Always either try and put yourself in another person shoes, and read through it, or get someone else to read through it, who isn’t gaining value from the website being popular.

3. Updated Content

Google ranks your website on how good the content is, but that rank will go away as time goes on. The more your website stays updated with new content, whether through a blog, a forum or a Q & A, the more Search Engine Results Pages you will be on, due to the content and the better ranking google will give your websites.

4. Linking

it is always good to link to them. Since the internet is a network, you will receive points with google and increase searches, if you link and refer users appropriately.

Internal link, ease of use and linking go well together. Always categorize and most web design platforms will give automatically suggested pages, posts and products that are categorized and share the same interest. Putting tags on products, and communicate to web platforms that the post share the same are related and should refer the user.. This helps users to navigate the website rather than exiting the website. Always put a scroll to top, or back home, or link to a specific page that would stir the user out of boredom. Also make sure if there are terms or phrases within your website that the user may not understand. Create glossary of, or terms that describe another page product or post on the website, in order to increase linking, user navigation instructions and increase google recommendations.

Authoritative Linking

When you link to another website you are giving them a referral. If a website links to you, this is called authoritative linking. If the website has been well established and is well ranked on Google, it will  quickly up your rank and increase your Search Engine Results.

Although Google knows these organizations as linking mechanisms and is not as good with helping your rank as much as another business associate or complimentary business. Always make sure to post your business on federal, provincial and municipal websites and other websites that help to promote your business whether non-profit or for profit through affiliate advertising. The more referrals, the better the rank, the more users that travel through your referrals and enjoy your website, the better Google ranks you.
